Evaluating the SiteA great building built on the wrong site
is not a good fit. A fantastic site can
be squandered when it is underutilized or
overbuilt. One key element for a good
built project is finding the right fit
between a site and the architectural
program. Louis Wasserman and Associates
have over twenty years of site inventory
and analysis experience with urban,
rural, and suburban, institutional,
subdivision, and residential site
selection through out the state from
Milwaukee to Ashland to Madison.
In our firm, sustainability is integrated
into each project from the beginning.
Proper site selection is the first step
to a sustainable building project;
topography, soil conditions, groundwater,
solar orientation, wind patterns,
existing plant material and utilities all
have impact on economic, energy and
quality of life issues in the design of a
building. We believe that understanding
the inventory of existing site features
is important, but it is more important to
analyze how the design of proposed
structures can maximize site
opportunities and minimize site
constraints to create the best possible
built environment.
In addition to employing current
technological tools, we still insist on
the tradition of walking the site- to
truly understand the site’s potential in
assisting the client in the creation of a
successful project.
